Participle
Definition in English – That word is partly a verb partly and adjective is called the Participle.
Definition in Hindi – वह शब्द जो Verb और Adjective दोनों के जैसा काम करता हैं, उसे Participle कहते हैं।
Examples –
I saw a weeping boy.
He is weeping.
Kinds of Participle –
1 . Present Participle [V4 = Verb + ing]
2 . Past Participle [Verb + d/ed]
1 . Present Participle
Definition in English – That Participle which refers to the incomplete action is called the Present Participle.
Definition in Hindi – वह Participle जो अपूर्ण कार्य का बोध कराता हैं, उसे Present Participle कहते हैं।
जैसे – Mohan is singing a song.
Uses of Present Participle –
1 . Present Participle का प्रयोग Continuous Tense बनाने में किया जाता हैं।
जैसे – Sohan is writing a letter.
2 . इसका प्रयोग Adjective के रूप में भी किया जाता हैं।
जैसे – I saw a flying bird.
3 . see, smell, feel, hear, watch, notice आदि के बाद Object + Present Participle का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
जैसे – I saw him crossing the road.
2 . Past Participle
Definition in English – That Participle which refers to the complete action is called the Past Participle.
Definition in Hindi – वह Participle जिससे पूर्ण कार्य का बोध होता हैं, उसे Past Participle कहते हैं।
जैसे – I saw a broken chair.
Uses of Past Participle –
1 . Past Participle का प्रयोग Perfect Tense बनाने में किया जाता हैं।
जैसे – Sachin had done this work.
2 . Past Participle का प्रयोग Adjective के रूप में किया जाता हैं।
जैसे – I saw a tired man.
3 . Perfect Participle बनाने के लिए V3 का प्रयोग किया जाता हैं।
[ having + v3 + Obj. + O.W. + S + v2 + O + O.W. ]
जैसे – having taken tea, he went to school.
